DYC Raises Funds In Stay Awake

The kids from Dundalk Youth Centre raised funds as they took part in a sponsored stay awake on Tuesday night / Wednesday morning.

Throughout the 14 hour marathon, which started at 6pm and finished at 8am, was plenty of games, food, movies, stories, team building exercises and much more.

The event was organised by Gaisce participants Josh Challoner, Katie Conway, Chloe Gernon, Medbh McCourt and Sonia McKeown. 

Other young people who raised funds and took part were Aoife Byrne, Ryan Byrne, Jamie Casey, Shane Kerr, Thomas O’Hare, Niall McBride, Aaron McCabe, Paige Mellin, Sarah Mulligan, Sean Murphy, Ceilim Rice, Conor Sally and Ryan Sherry.

Well done to everyone involved!

The DYC “Pop-up Shop” now open in Longwalk Shopping Centre. Call in for some new clothes, a good book or some yummy treats. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday!

Short X-hale Film

Over the past few months the young people in Dundalk Youth Centre, have been taken part in the X-hale short film programme. Two of the young people Megan Smith and Alex Jevdokimov have completed an x-hale Film making work shop ,which was run by the Irish Cancer Society and Digital Film School. We also had two staff members from Dundalk Youth Centre took part Stacey Mc Veigh and Mark Fitzpatrick. Yvonne Lawrance who is a committee member of the board of management for Dundalk Youth Centre also took part in this training.

Since the training we have set up a group and made a 2 minute film to help prevent young people we have entered our short film into the Irish Cancer Society competition. So this is where use all come in we need use to watch our film on youtube and give us a thumbs up. If you have Facebook page please share this with all your friend
